Launched just over a year ago, Dragonz is a 3D slot machine game from Microgaming. This fairytale themed slot machine game contains a 5-reel gaming platform, with Microgaming’s customary 243 ways to win payline structure present on those reels. Players will note that Dragonz can see them able to wager anything from 40p per spin up to £30 per spin, and whilst that minimum wager might seem steep, players can, in fact, enjoy an RTP rate of 96.50% and a non-progressive jackpot worth over 100x your total bet in the Dragonz slot.
Wild symbols do make an appearance in Dragonz, and they certainly aren’t hard to miss. These symbols appear as big blocks of “WILD” text. The symbols can substitute for all other icons in the game, with the exception of the orb symbol, which is the slot’s scatter icon.
Orb scatters are naturally going to trigger a free spin bonus round in this slot, as well as dish out scattered wins, just like they do in virtually every other Microgaming developed slot machine game.
Players who land 3 or more scatters will trigger 1 of 4 bonus features in this game. The Flint Bonus offers 10 spins with Flaming Wilds (extra wilds), whilst the Switch Bonus offers 10 spins with Stashed Wilds (wilds are accumulated and redeposited on a final super spin). The Frost Bonus promises 10 spins with Frosty Wilds (wilds are sticky until they are used in a win), whilst the Gobble Bonus offers 10 spins with Winning WIlds (wilds remain sticky until they are used in a win). Yes, the final two bonuses are virtually identical in everything but name.
Dragonz is a decent effort from Microgaming to try and get into the whole fairytale-themed slot machine genre. They haven’t quite grasped it perhaps as good as Net Entertainment have, and you do kind of feel cheated at the lack of difference between the Gobble and Frosty bonuses; all things considered, though, this is an enjoyable non-progressive video slot machine to play.
